International Students in Engineering Fund

International engineering students are essential to Canada鈥檚 future workforce, bringing talent, perspective, and innovation our industries urgently need. Yet many of these students face financial pressures that are invisible from the outside. While many arrive with sound financial plans, volatile exchange rates and global inflation can turn a stable plan into a financial crisis overnight.

When that happens, students are often forced to work excessive hours to cover tuition. The cost is steep: declining mental health, reduced academic performance, and in some cases, the difficult decision to abandon their studies entirely. Every time that happens, we don't just lose a student - we also lose future engineers, researchers, and leaders who would have strengthened our communities and economy.

This fund provides a critical safety net so that temporary financial gaps don鈥檛 derail years of hard work and potential. By bridging short-term gaps, we protect student well鈥慴eing, preserve academic success, and ensure that promising talent isn鈥檛 lost to circumstances beyond a student鈥檚 control.

Eligibility & Criteria:
鈥 Target: Full-time International Students in their 1st or 2nd year of an Engineering program.
鈥 Demonstrated Need: Applicants must demonstrate a "financial gap" where rising costs or work-related exhaustion are impacting their health or studies.
鈥 Wellness Focus: A brief personal statement explaining how this support will reduce anxiety and allow for a healthy academic focus.
