Dr. Tsering Dolkar Watermeyer is a social work scholar and educator whose research examines how social work knowledge and practice(s) are shaped by culture, place, history, power, and belonging. Drawing on critical, decolonial, and Indigenous approaches, her interdisciplinary work explores how different forms of 鈥榮ocial work鈥� are experienced and negotiated within particular social, cultural, and institutional contexts, and how more situated and responsive approaches can be developed in clinical and community settings. Her scholarship is grounded in her experiences across international development, refugee and immigrant settlement programs, community engagement and clinical social work practice.
She is interested in supervising graduate students whose research aligns with her areas of scholarship, including:
