The shipbuilders of Irving Shipbuilding have constructed over 80% of Canada鈥檚 Navy at sea today. Work is now underway building the next generation of combatant vessels for those who bravely serve. Nunatsiavut Government

Nunatsiavut, which translated into English means 鈥淥ur Beautiful Land鈥�, is the homeland of the Labrador Inuit and the first Inuit region in Canada to achieve self-government. The territory includes the five Inuit communities of Nain, Hopedale, Postville, Makkovik and Rigolet. 

Established on December 1, 2005, the Nunatsiavut Government represents over 7,000 Beneficiaries of the Constitutionally-protected Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement. It has many of the responsibilities and rights of other governments, such as planning for sustainable economic development, protecting the preserving Inuit culture and implementing social programs on behalf of Beneficiaries. The government consists of seven (7) departments, namely: Education and Economic Development; Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology; Health and Social Development; Lands and Natural Resources; Language, Culture and Tourism; Nunatsiavut Affairs; and Nunatsiavut Secretariat. Today, over 500 people are employed with the Nunatsiavut Government in a variety of roles, from Community Health Workers to IT Technicians.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is more than just Canada's national police service. We have been part of the fabric of Canada since 1873 鈥� almost 150 years. We are one of only a few police services recognized around the world for both our policing excellence and our image 鈥� the "Mountie".

Over the last century-and-a-half, we have grown and evolved with and for Canadians. The result is a more modern, diverse and inclusive RCMP that serves with honour and pride to keep Canadians safe.

RCMP purpose

From coast-to-coast-to-coast, at the community, provincial, territorial and federal levels, we work to:

  • prevent crime
  • enforce the law
  • investigate offences
  • keep Canadians, and their interests, safe and secure
  • assist Canadians in emergency situations/incidents

We also offer our renowned expertise at the international level by:

  • providing specialized training for police officers
  • conducting international policing activities, including peacekeeping
  • sharing intelligence with trusted partners to support investigations, as well as disrupt and dismantle criminal operations

We work in over 700 detachments in 150 communities across the country. We also provide policing services in more than 600 Indigenous communities.

Educating nurses for over 50 years, 91传媒's Faculty of Nursing has grown a reputation for excellence in this province, across the country and internationally.

We offer a bachelor of science in nursing (BScN) program with a four-year option and three-year accelerated option. Our graduate programs include a master of science in nursing (MScN) program with practicum and nurse practitioner (NP) options, a post-master鈥檚 nurse practitioner graduate diploma in Nursing, and a doctor of philosophy (PhD) in Nursing.
