High School Applicants
High school applicants are eligible to apply to the 4-Year Option of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) (Collaborative) Program. See here to apply.
Priority for admission is given to applicants who are residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. Out-of-province and international applicants are also encouraged to apply. All applicants must meet 91传媒鈥檚 general admission requirements.
Admission Averages
Your admission average is based on the six required courses listed below (or their equivalents), using your marks up to the end of grade 11.
Because final grade 12 marks aren鈥檛 available yet when offers go out, every offer to a high school applicant is conditional. The Nursing Admissions Office reviews final grades each June, and if your average across the six courses falls below 70%, the Nursing Admissions Committee will revoke the offer.
To be competitive, aim for a grade 11 average of 85% or higher across these six courses. That said, because the program is competitive, the recommended average can vary from year to year.
Required Courses
The following high school courses, or their equivalents, are required for admission to the 4-Year Option of the BScN (Collaborative) Program:
- Biology 2201 (out-of-province equivalent example: Biology 11)

- Social Science 3xxx or Modern Language 3xxx (2 credits at the 3000 level)*
*If you鈥檙e an out-of-province applicant and don鈥檛 have a grade 12 social science or modern language course, you鈥檒l need to complete an additional grade 12 science course instead, one not already listed above.
Required Items and Deadlines
- A personal statement is optional. You鈥檙e welcome to include one with your application, but it鈥檚 not required.
- If you鈥檙e applying from outside Newfoundland and Labrador, submit your high school transcript from the end of grade 11 (or equivalent) with your application. This can be sent by you or by your school.

- It鈥檚 the applicant鈥檚 responsibility to make sure every document is submitted before the nursing document submission deadline.
Important Information for High School Applicants
- Log into your application account any time to check that your documents have been received. If something is missing, contact nursingadmissions@mun.ca before the February 3 deadline.
- Newfoundland and Labrador applicants don鈥檛 need to submit final grades 鈥 91传媒 accesses these automatically.
- Out-of-province applicants can submit an unofficial transcript with their application, then arrange for an official final transcript to be sent directly to 91传媒鈥檚 Admissions Office once final grades are released in June or July, by email to admiss.docs@mun.ca.
Admission Decisions
Admission decisions are emailed to your MUNmail account, so set up your MUNmail account (91传媒鈥檚 official student email system) as soon as you can.
Reminders about missing documents, and other important correspondence from the university, are also sent to your MUN email address, so check it regularly, including your junk mail folder, in case a message is filtered there.
