Accelerated Option Paused for Fall 2027

The Accelerated Option is paused at both the St. John鈥檚 campus and Western Regional School of Nursing for Fall 2027. We will not be accepting applications to the Accelerated Option for any of our campuses for Fall 2027. For more information, contact the Nursing Admissions Office at nursingadmissions@mun.ca.

Three Schools, One Program

There are three independent schools of nursing: 91传媒 Faculty of Nursing (MUNFON), with sites in Gander, Grand Falls鈥揥indsor, Happy Valley鈥揋oose Bay, and St. John鈥檚; the , in St. John鈥檚; and the , in Corner Brook.

The three schools work together under a Consortium Agreement to deliver one shared BScN (Collaborative) program, so no matter which site you attend, you earn the same degree.

Three Decades of Nursing Education

The BScN (Collaborative) Program is a four-year program leading to a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Its curriculum was developed through the collaborative work of all of the province鈥檚 schools of nursing and was first implemented in the 1996鈥�97 academic year. For three decades, it has set the standard for nursing education in Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Faculty of Nursing remains proud to help deliver it today, alongside the Centre for Nursing Studies and Western Regional School of Nursing.

Accreditation

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) (Collaborative) program at 91传媒 is highly regarded, reflected in its accreditation status. The program holds a seven-year accreditation from the (CASN), the highest award a nursing school can earn in Canada. All three of our nursing schools are also approved by the . Formerly the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL), the college adopted its new name in April 2026 after merging with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador, and now regulates registered nurses, nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, and registered psychiatric nurses under one organization.

How Admission Works

Admission to the BScN program 鈥� the 4-Year Option, Accelerated Option, and LPN Bridging Option alike 鈥� is competitive, and coordinated through the Undergraduate Nursing Admissions Office.
