Accepted? Your next steps

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) (Collaborative) Program. Here鈥檚 what happens next.

  • 1. Confirm your seat
    Pay your tuition deposit through your . On your My Account page, go to the Decision History tab and select Respond Now to accept or decline your offer.
  • 2. Review the Entry-Level Competencies
    By accepting your seat, you confirm that you have read, understood and meet the .
  • 3. Watch for registration and orientation information
    Once you confirm your seat, your learning site will send you course registration and orientation information before registration begins in July. If you are admitted after July, your site will contact you once you have been notified of your acceptance.
  • 4. Register for Fall courses by the end of the first week of August
    If you haven鈥檛 registered by then, you will be contacted to discuss your plans.
  • 5. Complete your pre-clinical requirements
    Complete these by the deadline in your orientation package (see below).

Pre-clinical requirements

All admitted students must complete pre-clinical requirements by the deadline listed in their orientation package. These are coordinated by your learning site, not the Undergraduate Nursing Admissions Office. They include, for example:

  • Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support certificates
  • Student Information Form
  • Newfoundland and Labrador Pre-Placement Immunizations and Communicable Diseases Screening Form
  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

Good to know

Clinical placements

You may be required to complete 鈥渂lock鈥� clinical placements outside the community where you take your nursing courses. Block placements are full-time clinical placements with no classroom courses during that time. You are responsible for any travel and accommodation costs during these placements.

Required resources

Some resources must be purchased for the program, including ATI, an electronic learning resource whose cost is spread over the years of your program. You will also need items such as textbooks (electronic or print), uniforms and other equipment, some of which you may need to buy in Year 1 for use throughout the program.

Non-academic complaint policy and procedures

Students accepted to the 91传媒 Faculty of Nursing follow 91传媒鈥檚 non-academic complaint policy and procedures. Students accepted to the Centre for Nursing Studies or the Western Regional School of Nursing follow those of NL Health Services.
